Blackburn United are hoping to continue progressing in the new season

Blackburn United's plans for the new season are well under way.

The Burnie are keen to get back into action after The East of Scotland Football Association announced the league to be over on April 27.

After finishing third from bottom in the league the well-run community outfit are hoping to keep evolving and to bring in some new players for 2020/21.

Despite taking some big scalps throughout the course of the season Blackburn struggled for consistency in their second year out of the Junior leagues.

Assistant manager Jamie McCormick said: “Our plans for next season are to continue to progress as a club both on and off the park. Last season was a good learning curve for our group of players and we will be better for that.

"We have re-signed 14 from last season's group of players and we also have two players stepping up from our U20s development squad.

“We, like all clubs, require to strengthen for next season, particularly in the attacking areas, and our plans are in place for that having secured some fresh faces already. It’s a great challenge and one we look forward to.”
