Blackburn brothers' restaurant chain Tattu lines up new venue in London's West End

A restaurant chain founded by two Blackburn brothers, which opened its first site in Manchester's Spinningfields district in 2015, is set to launch in London's West End next year.

Work has started on Tattu's landmark site at The Now Building in the capital which will have space for 220 covers.

The company's fifth site will be located in the Denmark Street building which forms part of the wider Outernet London scheme and open in early 2022.

The project will feature a 2,000 capacity music venue, a gallery, broadcasting and media facilities, a hotel, bars and restaurants.

Greater Manchester-headquartered Tattu was founded by brothers Adam and Drew Jones and also has sites in Leeds, Birmingham and Edinburgh, offering contemporary cuisine inspired by traditional Chinese flavours and ingredients, curated by executive chef Andrew Lassetter.

Adam Jones said: "This is a major milestone for our business and the evolution of the Tattu brand. Whilst the last two years may have slowed us down, commencing the build of this landmark project is a testament to both our team and the unwavering support of our customers.

"It is a truly special moment for us. We look forward to bringing a new experience to the capital and sharing more of the Tattu London journey in coming months."

The group has partnered with international luxury interior design practice Joyce Wang Studio to develop a design concept for the new restaurant.

Richard Metcalfe, group COO of Outernet Global, added: "The vision for Outernet is to boldly embrace the creative expression of Denmark Street and its rich history of culture, art and music.

"We wanted to provide a platform to celebrate leading independent brands that share that sense of expression and individuality. Tattu encapsulates this completely.
