Blackbelt TaeKwon-Do teens are ready to take on the world

A pair of Blackbelt TaeKwon-Do teens are ready to take on the world.

Charles West (17) and Charlotte ‘Lotte’ Wright (16), from Bathgate, have been chosen to represent Scotland at the forthcoming International TaeKwon-Do Federation TaeKwon-Do World Championships to be held in Tamperer, Finland in September.

Charles and Lotte are both members of Armadale based Pro-Edge Martial Arts whose head instructor Master Robin Blair 7th Degree teaches both ITF TaeKwon-Do and Pro-Edge Kickboxing in Armadale and Livingston.

Master Blair said; “I’m extremely proud. Their commitment to training saw them breeze through the gruelling selection process and earn their place amongst the ITF Scotland team heading to Finland.”

The World Championships is one of the toughest events in the martial arts calendar and draws competitors from around the globe.

There has only been one Scottish Junior Champion this century, former Pro-Edge member Ian Ford who won gold in Ireland in 2017. Coming from the same club, there’s every chance that Charles and Lotte could emulate that success.
