Blackadder star Tony Robinson quits Labour and brands Jeremy Corbyn 's***'

Blackadder star Sir Tony Robinson quit Labour today and branded Jeremy Corbyn “s***”.

The TV actor, famed for Baldrick’s “cunning plan” catchphrase, walked away in frustration at the party leadership.

He tweeted: “I’ve left the Labour Party after nearly 45 years of service at Branch, Constituency and NEC levels, partly because of it’s continued duplicity on Brexit , partly because of it’s anti-Semitism, but also because its leadership is complete s***.”

Robinson, 72, sat on the party’s national executive committee from 2000 to 2004 under Tony Blair .

The second Brexit referendum capaigner has previously hit out at the party hierarchy under Mr Corbyn.

In January last year he said Labour had been “completely taken over by and for a leftist clique”.

EastEnders actress Tracy Ann Oberman, who quit Labour in 2017 and has hit out at anti-Semitism, replied to the Time Team presenter saying: “It’s so sad when we come to the realisation that it’s not a place for us anymore.

“I feel your pain, Tony. Huge part of our identity - gone x.”

Labour refused to comment on Robinson’s resignation.
