Black Widow: Rachel Weisz and David Harbour in talks for new Marvel film

The cast for Marvel’s Black Widow solo film is coming together.

Rachel Weisz, fresh off her Oscar nomination for The Favourite, and Stranger Things star David Harbour are both in talks for the film, according to Variety

Fighting with My Family’s Florence Pugh has already been cast, in a film set to be directed by Cate Shortland and written by Jac Schaeffer.

The project has been in development for some time, but it appears that, in a post-Avengers: Endgame vision of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s finally become time to give the character (played by Scarlett Johansson) her own film.

It’s unclear, however, whether Black Widow will serve as an origin story or will take place after the events of Endgame

Avengers: Endgame will be released in UK cinemas on 25 April.
