Black The Ripper - autopsy ordered after rapper's dead body found at holiday home by police

An autopsy has been ordered after Black The Ripper's body was found in the Carribbean.

Authorities in Montserrat have confirmed he died on the island and was found in a in the St. Johns area on April 6.

British rapper Black, whose real name was Dean West, had been on the island since February 25 and was just 32 when he died.

When police arrived at the home he was found motionless and was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Local police say they have carried out a full search of the property but the cause of death is currently unknown.

They have launched a full investigation into Black's death.

The Commissioner of Police Steve Foster said: "At present the circumstances of his death is unknown, as a result the coroner (Chief Magistrate) has ordered a Post Mortem Examination to be conducted on the body of the deceased to determine the cause of death.

"However, I am unable to say and or give a date at this time of when the autopsy examination will be completed."

Black found fame in the early noughties with mix tapes Holla Black and Afro Sumurai.

In recent years, he had been a strong advocate for the legalisation of marijuana in the UK.

He was infamous for 'hotboxing' the London Eye and once posted a video showing himself smoking a cannabis joint in Asda.

He called himself as a "motivated stoner" and often shared videos of himself smoking cannabis in public.

After his death was announced his famous fans shared tributes to him on social media, including Actor Michael Dapaah and House DJ and producer DJ Pioneer.

Michael wrote: "Real sad news RIP Black The Ripper, my condolences to his family & loved ones."
