Black student repeatedly called n-word and an ‘ape’ in vile rant

A black student was repeatedly called the n-word in a vile racist rant in New York.

The Yale PhD pupil was branded an 'ape' by another woman as she was walking down the street while wearing a Black Lives Matter t-shirt.

As the white woman walked away, Kathryn Graves, 27, told her "you 'bout to lose your job".

Her abuser, who was clutching a pack of beers, said: "Obama's f***ing d**k right next to his ape f***ing wife."

She then made monkey noises at Ms Graves, before adding: "Ni***r ape. You f***ing ni***r ape.

"What’s the matter, you ni***r ape, you got time to f***ing do your hair?

"What’s the matter, you got time to do your f***ing pink a** f***ing hair, you ni***r Obama f***ing ape."

As the woman walked away, Ms Graves, who had up to that point remained silent, said: "You 'bout to lose your job.

"We’re going to find you online and you’re going to lose your job.”

The "you 'bout to lose your job" protest chant went viral after Johnniqua Charles was filmed saying it while being detained by a guard outside a strip club in February.

Following the killing of African American George Floyd, the phrase became a symbol of opposition to the authorities.

Footage of Ms Graves' racist encounter was shared on Instagram on Sunday.

Many social media users praised the restraint she showed in her response to the woman, the New York Post reports.

One person said: “I admire you for not winding up and knocking that trash to the gutter where she belongs."

Another wrote: “Girl, I would’ve lost my freedom. Like I’m not recording. I’m smacking!”
