Black Panther artist leaves unusual surprise on Adelaide flight

Look, up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's… a superhero sketch on a sick bag!

A passenger flying from Adelaide to Sydney on Thursday might have spotted something a bit more impressive than a half-completed crossword quiz in their seat pocket.

A detailed drawing of Catwoman on a plane motion sickness bag was left behind for someone to find.

But those dismissing the artwork as an amateur cartoonist's doodle should refrain from using the bag for its intended purpose — it's thought the drawing is by renowned American comic book artist Brian Stelfreeze.

Did you find the drawing, or know who did? Get in touch.

Stelfreeze is best-known as the artist behind countless illustrations for most American comic book publishers, but has notably contributed to Marvel and DC Comics magazines, including the cult comic series Black Panther.

The character of Black Panther made his comic-book debut in early 1966, the same year the Black Panther political movement was founded.

A Twitter account "operated with Brian Stelfreeze's support and cooperation" tweeted about the surprise left on a flight just after 10:00am on Thursday.

The tweet didn't specify what airline Stelfreeze was travelling with before he left the sketch.

"If you are flying from Adelaide to Sydney in Australia today, Brian left this hidden art for you to find," the tweet read.

His followers on Twitter were quick to respond.

Jason Roberts tweeted: "That is without doubt the coolest barf bag I've ever seen!"

"This would cure me INSTANTLY", Constance responded.
