Black Friday: More than a quarter of Londoners may go sick for online sales

More than a quarter of Londoners are considering “pulling a sick day” to bag bargains on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, says a survey.

Research suggests up to 28 per cent of workers are thinking of faking illness to hit the sales.

That’s the highest of any region in the country, the poll of 2,000 people by cyber security firm F-Secure says.

Shoppers were also warned to be wary of bogus online deals designed to harvest people’s personal data, either through scam emails or on unsecured wifi.
