The return of the Black Cab Sessions has so far welcomed an array of Guardian-approved artists, such as Hinds, Natalie Prass, Songhoy Blues and Elliphant. Today, however, we introduce someone a little newer to the music world – Moses Sumney, whose glorious vocals fill the backseat of the black cab, armed with just a loop pedal.
While his voice may be familiar to those who purchased Beck’s Songreader album, Sumney’s ascent is but at the beginning – his first shows were last June and he’s so far released a self-produced soul-folk EP entitled Mid-City Island. Here’s another track, courtesy of the famous taxi-based video series. Let us know what you make of it.
