Priyanka Gandhi targets BJP over Agra question paper leak

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Uttar Pradesh over the question paper leak in the class 12 board examination (mathematics and biology), accusing the saffron party of hollowing out foundational education of crores of children while saving the examination mafia and corrupt entitites.

“Paper leaked once again. Why after all. Under BJP rule, from job exams to board exams - almost every paper is getting leaked. Board examinations are the first challenges that children face when they learn to build their future. If such a big betrayal happens to them right here, what will they do next. To save the examination mafia and the corrupt people sitting in the government, the BJP is also hollowing the foundation of crores of children and youth,” alleged Ms. Vadra, in a post on X.

On Thursday, the District Inspector of Schools in Agra petitioned the police to register a First Information Report (FIR) against the centre superintendent of Antar Singh Inter College and others for making viral the question papers of mathematics and biology exams for Class 12 Uttar Pradesh Board in a social media WhatsApp group during the exam.

The Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education, while cancelling the affiliation of the Inter College for the misconduct, refuted allegations of the paper leak. “By then, the examination had been conducted for one hour and 10 minutes and all the candidates were giving the examination peacefully in their rooms at their respective examination centres, due to which the sanctity of the council examinations has not been affected at any level,” read a statement from the U.P. Board.
