MUMBAI: Taking a dig at the BJP, the Shiv Sena on Friday said that the party's colours were adulterated. Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said that the Sena did not fear action by Central investigative agencies and reiterated NCP supremo Sharad Pawar’s statement that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) wouldn’t let the BJP come back to power in Maharashtra.
"No one is afraid of BJP. If BJP is trying to bring down the morale of MLAs, MPs and leaders of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) by making false allegations and mudslinging, then it is wrong. Sharad Pawar's assurance that don't be afraid, I will not allow BJP to come to Maharashtra again is not only the view of the NCP but also of MVA. As a key leader of the MVA he has placed this view in front of young MLAs," Raut said.
"Our friends from the BJP are giving new dates every day. These are all fake, adulterated colors and are banned by the central government itself. Sharad Pawar has given them a reply. No matter what happens, the BJP will not come to power in Maharashtra again. There is no problem in trying in democracy and politics, they (BJP) should keep trying", he said.
"They use fake colors. We are not afraid of your fake colors. Holi comes once in a year but their drama plays out every day. If we start doing drama, many pits have been dug in Maharashtra too and we will see who will fall into it and who will be pushed into it," Raut said.
Raut said that the Shiv Sena was a big party and was putting up a challenge to the BJP.
"Whoever puts up a challenge is bombarded. We used to think that the BJP has strength. But this is not true because they attack from behind. This kind of backstabbing in politics is to be digested and we are digesting it. It has been two and a half years for the Thackeray government and it will last for another two and a half years and we will be in power again for the next five years. Devendra Fadnavis has said that the BJP will come to power with a majority in 2024. That's a good thing. His morale has increased since the victory of Goa. They will soon know what Goa is. Goa couldn’t be understood to Portuguese and the British. Many political parties do not know what Goa is and the politics of Goa. If winning Goa has boosted their confidence, I wish them well," Raut said.
