LUCKNOW: BSP chief Mayawati said President’s Ram Nath Kovind’s address to the joint sitting of both Houses of Parliament at the start of the Budget Session was ‘disappointing’ and in the name of ‘hope’, the Centre was trying to fool the people just like Congress did with its slogan of ‘Garibi Hatao’.
“The President’s address to the joint session of the two Houses a day before the Union Budget is extremely disappointing. First Congress conned people with its slogan of ‘Garibi Hatao’ and now the BJP government is insulting Bharat Mata’s children and pushing them into a deplorable state. Why?” she said.
She added that ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ will happen in the real sense only when her children, the poor, unemployed, and harassed are free of troubles and at peace. However, due to the wrong policies of the government, the crisis in the lives of these people has only worsened in recent years.
