RAIPUR: Responding to Congress president Mallikarjuna Kharge’s allegation that the centre has blocked Rs 19000 crore aid to Chhattisgarh, opposition BJP expressed doubts about Congress chief’s trust in the Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel saying that he must do a fact-check.
Reacting to Kharge’s statement during a public rally in Rajnandgaon on Friday, BJP state president Arun Sao highlighted that Kharge, in his capacity as Congress national president, holds a position of great respect.
Sao cautioned Kharge against compromising his dignity by unquestioningly believing in Bhupesh Baghel's words. Sao stressed the importance of upholding the prestige associated with the Congress president's position.
Sao went on to point out that the Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel has been prone to falsehoods over the past five years, eroding the trust of the people of the state. He further noted that even the Congress party itself does not entirely trust Baghel. This distrust, according to Sao, has led Baghel to organize ‘Bharose Ka Sammelan’ with central leaders, funded by public resources.
Referring to a recent conference in Janjgir, Saw underscored the strained relations between Congress, Bhupesh Baghel, and the public. He criticized Baghel for tarnishing the image of politicians worldwide with his actions.
Sao called on Kharge to seek clarification from Baghel before discussing such matters in public. He urged for a fact-based approach to prevent any damage to Kharge's public reputation.
