BJP, AAP have run out of ideas, says Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday said BJP and AAP have run out of ideas hence they are coming up with issues like uniform civil code and photo of Goddess Laxmi on currency notes.

Talking to reporters before leaving for Himachal Pradesh on Sunday evening, he said " “Do they follow what they preach in public? I don’t think so as AAP is changing its colour like Chameleon and the party is not adhering to a particular ideology these days."

He hit back at opposition BJP for terming Congress as descendants of Britishers who believe in ‘divide and rule’ policy. The chief minister advised BJP to read the history books thoroughly to know who the real descendants are

Reacting to Chhattisgarh BJP leader Kedar Kashyap’s remark comparing Congress with Britishers, the chief minister said that for the first time someone in BJP has come forward to condemn Britishers. Kashyap must read the history book thoroughly to remove his misconception that Congress people are the descendants of Britishers.

How could the BJP forget Shyamaprasad Mukherjee has written a letter to the viceroy to crush the 1942 movement. It was the BJP who stood by the Britishers, said the chief minister. Kedar Kashyap’s statement cannot change history, he said.

The chief minister said that he will be attending a massive rally in Himachal on Monday. Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi will address the rally in the poll-bound state.

Extending greetings to people on ‘Chhat’ festival, the chief minister said that Chhattisgarh is the second state after Bihar to declare holiday on this festival.
