Bizarre moment Sir Rod Stewart lies on floor of private jet during takeoff

This is the bizarre moment Sir Rod Stewart decided to lie in the the floor of his private jet during takeoff.

Rod's daughter, Ruby, posted the short video clip on Instagram to her 44.3M followers - which shows him laying face down on the aircraft.

In the footage, the 'Do Ya Think I'm Sexy' chanter is wearing a red tartan shirt, a waist coat and trainers. The 77-year-old rocker kicked off his UK tour last night (Wednesday) in Nottingham.

Ruby also shared a separate video of Rod's wife Penny Lancaster onboard the private plane, with holes in her socks, joking: "I know what I am getting @pennylancaster for Christmas".

We told you earlier this week how Celtic-daft Rod revealed that he sends Hoops manager Ange Postecoglou a special gift every time his team defeats rivals Rangers.

Sir Rod made the confession while on Australia doing promo for his upcoming tour there, where he will be supported by Cyndi Lauper.

He was questioned about his team's current manager - who hails from the Gold Coast - in a recent interview down under.

Rod was wearing a Hoops strip when he was asked by a presenter: "You’re probably Celtic’s best known supporter and there is currently an Aussie in charge of your team... have you met Ange Postecoglou and how do you think he’s doing?"

As Rod laughed, saying he's a 'lovely fella', he added: "Are you kidding? I know Ange and his wife. I always see his wife in the director’s box when I go up there to see Celtic."

He went on to say that he sends him a special gift when they beat their rivals. He said: "Every time Ange beats Rangers, I send him a crate of Australian wine – I think it’s twice now. And if they beat them again I will send him another crate of Australian wine.

While Down Under, the Dad-of-eight also admitted he doesn't want his teenage son Alastair becoming a chip off the old block too soon and he's told him 'no babies!' until he's older.

During an appearance on Australian TV, he revealed that he'd give the same tips to Alastair, which was “Keep it in your trousers. I tell my son that because I had a child at 17."

Rod and Alastair regularly make the trip up to Scotland on his private jet from their Essex home to see their beloved Celtic.
