If you use social media, it’s likely your feeds were full of romantic engagement photos and videos over the festive period.
Now, a bizarre device has launched which aims to make it easier to record your proposal as it happens.
The device, dubbed the RokShok, is essentially a ring box that clips onto a smartphone, letting the proposer film the moment from a first person perspective.
RokShok explained: “RokShok is the first ever smartphone case that conceals and presents an engagement ring, while the user captures the entire proposal on camera!”
The device features a small ring holder, which springs up when the proposer gets down on one knee.
The angle of the ring holder means that both the top of the ring and the recipient are in the camera frame.
While RokShok isn’t available to buy yet, it’s already caused quite the stir on social media.
One user tweeted: “Rokshok - proud owners of the patent for stripping a seminal human moment of all its dignity, spontaneity and taste.”
Another added: “Everything that's wrong with America and millennials. #RokShok is a product to socially broadcsst the most intimate and important moment in one's life.”
And one joked: “Nothing says 'I didn't want to hire a photographer when I proposed to you in case you said no' like a RokShok Engagement iPhone Case.”
The RokShok is expected to retail for $59.95 (£45), although it remains unclear when it will be available to order.
