Joe Pasquale starred as multiple characters in a bizarre episode of Doctors about a woman who believes he is stalking her.
The patient is suffering from a rare disorder in which she sees lots of people as the actor, and believes he is using disguises to follow her everywhere she goes.
In the episode entitled The Joe Pasquale Problem, GP boss Bear Sylvester attempts to help a patient who believes she is being stalked by the comedian.
The woman, Lizzy, becomes frantic as she tells her partner, who is Bear's cousin, the funnyman is following her.
"He was waiting for me," she tells him as she runs into the house, frantic and out of breath.

Revealing a cut on her hand, she tells her partner Shaun she fell over and collapses into his arms as she shouts: "Why won't he just leave me alone?"
He takes her to see a doctor at the GP surgery, and speaks to the man on reception, but when Lizzy sees him, she can't believe her eyes.
As Bear and his cousin discuss what's going on with Lizzy in another room, they hear her shouting: "You! Why can't you just leave me alone?
"Is this funny to you? How did you even know I was coming here? Leave me alone!"
Lizzy shouts in the confused man's face, and nobody else seems to understand what's going on.

After being taken away from the receptionist, Lizzy questions Bear, demanding to know why he has given Joe Pasquale a job.
Her partner explains: "Lizzy watches a lot of reality TV ... some reality TV, and there's that comedian Joe Pasquale, he's been in a few of those things, and Lizzy likes him ... she did.
"We were down in London a few months ago and we ran into him in a restaurant, we had a chat, he was just like he was on telly, even let us take a selfie."
Lizzy jumps in: "The problem is, now he's everywhere. Down the shops, at my gym, he turned up at Shaun's mate's party."
Bear asks: "So you're saying you're being stalked by the comedian Joe Pasquale?"
"Well yeah," she says. "Look!"

Bear pops his head out to glance at the receptionist, who Lizzy insists is Joe in disguise.
Suddenly, every character who walks into the room after that starts turning into Joe.
Lizzy can't even look at him, and tells him to "Clear off" insisting: "I don't even like you anymore."
Joe plays all the characters with the scenes switching back and forward from reality, and between him and the actual actor.
Shaun tells Bear this has been going on for months, and that it happens with almost every white man Lizzy sees - as well as "a couple of white women with short hair".
Lizzy becomes so erratic when the receptionist - aka Joe - comes into the room she's in.
She screams at him to stop following him and tries to fend him off with a whisk.

Bear soon finds out that Lizzy is suffering from Fregoli delusion, a rare disorder in which a person holds a delusional belief that all the different people they're seeing are in fact a single person who changes their appearances or uses disguises.
He even convinces the receptionist to go along with Lizzy's delusions and apologise to her, as if he is actually Joe Pasquale and he has been following her.
The real Joe pokes a lot of fun at himself in his various roles, as the people who appear to be him struggle to remember what he does until they suddenly realise it's "him with the voice".
But things get very confusing when Dr Daniel Granger walks in the room, meaning two Joe Pasquales are stood side by side.
Lizzy asks: "How is he doing that?"
When she's being examined by Dr Granger, he asks her why she thinks Joe is following her.

She says: "I don't know. We met him in a restaurant, I guess he fancies me or it's like a power thing. Some famous people get off on that sort of thing, don't they?"
Lizzy says Joe sometimes tries to deny it's him but that she can tell it is because "his disguises aren't that good".
She says he sometimes even uses prosthetics, or women's clothing and has children with him.
She even suggests that Joe uses lookalikes to go on TV in his place so that he can dedicate his time to stalking her.
In the end, her boyfriend, Bear and Dr Granger manage to convince her to go to the hospital.
Viewers absolutely loved the epiode.
