This unusual footage shows the moment a man appears to steal a doormat after trespassing in a back garden.
Andrew Bailey noticed his doormat was missing when he returned to his home in Thompson Street, Langley Mill, on June 2.
The 38-year-old decided to watch his CCTV back to try and find out what happened, eventually spotting the bizarre incident.
The footage showed a man appear to stroll up to his house and take the mat just before 11pm on June 1, DerbyshireLive reports.
Mr Bailey has reported the incident to police .
The science technician said: "I looked at my CCTV and found this guy had casually wandered down and took the mat.
"Whether he was looking for a key I don't know.
"I put it on Facebook as I couldn't believe it and was interested as to what the general public thought of it.
"We have another around the back of the house which I may leave there!
"Last week I caught a guy trying to climb the lamppost, he only succeeded in smashing my fence.
"I have CCTV up for security after someone broke into my van a couple of years ago.
"It's a little concerning regarding thefts as I know of quite a few vans that have been targeted.
"This is quite trivial - but theft all the same!"
Police are investigating the incident and have asked anyone with information to contact them on 101.
