From BDSM to threesomes, many people have secret fetishes and fantasies that they’d love to make a reality.
Now, a new app has launched that lets BDSM lovers visualise what a sex dungeon would look like in their house.
The app, which has been developed by tech startup Third Aurora, uses augmented reality to virtually place objects in your house.
Users simply point their smartphone at the area they'd like to see the dungeon in, and it will appear on the screen, as if it's really there.
While other firms such as Ikea have previously used this technology to allow users to visualise furniture in their house, Third Aurora has used AR to place whips, chains and BDSM furniture in users’ homes.
Dave Chaffey, co-founder of Third Aurora, said: “If you’re a coy couple looking to purchase bondage equipment, where do you start?
“You can look online but photographs don’t give you the true picture.
“You really need to view it in a three-dimensional setting you know well, to see if it’s going to match the bed suite.”
The app is currently a prototype, but can be tested via these iOS or Android links.
Mr Chaffey added: “This will be a new platform for commerce, particularly when the size of the item and its exact position matters.
“We believe that smartphone augmented reality will play a part in two to four percent of sales, across all industries, within five years. It’s currently an untapped field.”
The app comes shortly after experts suggested that virtual reality could be used to help people live out their fetishes.
Speaking to MailOnline , Trudy Barber, a lecturer in Media Studies at the University of Portsmouth, said: "In a VR environment you can explore as many types of sexual engagement as there are people to invent and create them but for specific sexual fetishes there needs to be specific world builders available - as no two persons fetish are alike."
