BITC Cymru appoints new director

Business in the Community has appointed a new director for BITC Cymru.

Sue Husband, director of employer and employee engagement at Education & Skills Funding Agency, has been named the new director of the Prince's Responsible Business Network.

Ms Husband was previously head of education for McDonald’s UK and held a variety of roles in operations, franchising, communications and training, working with both company and franchised restaurants. She is currently the director of employer and employee engagement and responsible for the National Careers Service, the Department for Education’s relationship with WorldSkills UK and driving employer engagement with the skills agenda.

Ms Husband said: " I am delighted to be joining Business in the Community, as the Director of BITC Cymru. I have been fortunate throughout my career to have seen the positive impact that responsible businesses can have on their local communities and so to have this opportunity to lead BITC, at home, in Wales is a privilege and a challenge that I am really looking forward to."

Amanda Mackenzie OBE, chief executive of Business in the Community said: " We are thrilled that Sue is joining us. The experience and leadership skills she brings from her roles at the Department of Education and McDonald’s will further unlock the potential for BITC Cymru and will help us put responsible business at the heart of every leading business in Wales."

Ms Husband formally starts her role at Business in the Community in January 2020.
