'Bit worried' - Nottingham Forest legend on the importance of Luton Town clash

It’s difficult to know whether Nottingham Forest not having a game last Saturday is a good thing or not.

It will have given some of the injured players a bit more time to recover, but after two defeats you want to get back out there as soon as possible. You want to get out on the pitch and put things right.

Forest will have wanted to do that against Reading. They won’t have wanted that game rained off.

If it were me, I’d have made sure the players still did some training on Saturday.

If we’d been winning, maybe they’d have deserved a day off. But at the minute there’s things we need to work on.

We’ve not really turned up since the international break. It came at a bad time for us - killed our momentum.

I can’t say I’m looking forward to the Luton game this weekend. I would have been a few weeks ago, but our form just makes me a bit worried.

Forest head coach Sabri Lamouchi (Joseph Raynor/ Nottingham Post)

Luton are 19th and have lost their last two games. But after our last two performances, I’m not sure I’d bank on us getting the win.

We’re going to have to play a heck of a lot better than we have done if we want to get three points.

You just don’t know what Forest team is going to turn up or when we’re going to start playing - we might only get it together in the last 20 minutes and by then it could be too late.

We’ve got a lot of supporters going down there - I’d like to think we’ll make it worth their while and give them something back; give them a performance.

It’s the Derby game after that, too, and we really want to go into that one on the back of a win.

Derby have been going through a bad spell at the start of this season. I don’t think they’ve got a good team this year.

Their best players were loan players but they’ve gone back to their clubs. Now we’re seeing the real Derby, and they’re not very good.

But it can still be a difficult game for us, and we want to be going into it with a win on Saturday.

Kenny Burns was this week speaking to Sarah Clapson.
