Bisto Chicken Gravy recalled over metal shards found in the granules

()

Tens of thousands of tubs of Bisto gravy granules have been pulled from shelves after manufacturer Premiere Foods discovered that some may contain shards of metal.

The metal shards were caused by a fault in a filler bowl on the production line after some maintenance had taken place. A spokesman said that this caused some rubbing against the metal bolts which resulted in shards of metal getting into the granules.
