Bishopbriggs fire at The Campsie Bar being treated as wilful by police

A bar in Bishopbriggs was set on fire yesterday in an incident police are treating as suspicious.

The incident occurred at The Campsie Bar on Woodhill Road at around 1am yesterday.

Emergency services raced to the scene of the blaze.  Nobody was injured in the incident.

Police are now treating the fire as wilful and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Detective Sergeant John Semple, Bishopbriggs Police Office, said: "Our officers are currently carrying out a number of enquiries to find those responsible for this incredibly dangerous act.

"We are appealing for anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the early hours of this morning to get in touch with us."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police via 101, quoting incident number 0201 of Friday 19 April 2019.
