Biscoff cupcakes are being sold at Asda for £2 - and they look delicious

Lotus Biscoff fever has been sweeping the nation over the past few years, with people going wild for ways to consume the iconic spread.

And now fans of its distinctive caramelised flavour can get their fix from their nearest Asda store.

That's because the supermarket has launched limited-edition Biscoff cupcakes, which come in a box of nine and will set you back only £2.

The Speculoos cakes are topped with a caramelised biscuit flavour icing, meaning they taste just like Lotus biscuit spread. Sounds pretty amazing, right?

Each is decorated with either a drizzle of toffee sauce or chocolate sprinkles.

If you can't make it to your nearest Asda, the cakes are being sold on the Asda website, but there is a minimum basket fee of £3. You can find out your nearest Asda by using the online store finder.

Food blogger Newfoodsuk recently shared a picture of the treats on Instagram and mentioned that the topping "tastes just like biscuit spread/Biscoff!"

Commenting on the post, one excited shopper said: "I think I could eat all of them."

Another wrote: "These sound lush."

Someone else said: "Gyms aren't open for another two weeks. I'll try these then!"

Being a limited-edition item, we're not sure how long these cakes will be around, so you'll need to be quick if you don't want to miss out.

Maybe chocolate cupcakes are more up your street? If that's the case, then Asda is also selling a Galaxy chocolate cupcake sharing platter for £8.

The supermarket recently launched a rival to Marks & Spencer's much-loved Colin the Caterpillar cake.

Priced at £12, Sid the Sausage Dog cake serves up to 20 people, making it perfect for celebrations.
