Birmingham Young Professional of the Year launches for 20th anniversary awards

A business awards celebrating the achievements of young people in Birmingham's professional services sector is open for its 20th year.

Birmingham Young Professional of the Year (BYPY) will again recognise the best under 35s across six categories before choosing one of those as the overall winner for 2020.

And in a change from previous events, the usual May ceremony has been moved to June 4 and will be held at Villa Park instead of the ICC.

The awards categories are:

- Finance

- HR, Recruitment and Training

- Legal

- Marketing, Communications and Events

- Property and Construction

- Technology and Innovation

There will again be an aspiring talent category for 16 to 24 years olds currently in education or training for a professional services career while a senior business figure in the city will be honoured as inspiring leader.

The annual awards were launched at an event in Birmingham city centre last night which heard from Samantha Miller, chairman of Birmingham Future, the business networking group which organises the ceremony.

Entries can be submitted via the Birmingham Future website and the deadline is March 23.
