Birmingham office block tabled for conversion

An office block in north Birmingham will be converted into new apartments in a £14 million project.

Developer Urban Village Capital is behind the project to switch Four Oaks House into 69 apartments which will be available to rent.

Construction work is due to start this month after recently receiving the green light from Birmingham City Council.

Four Oaks House will comprise a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments over four floors, a roof terrace and secure car parking.

Birmingham-based Urban Village Capital was launched last year as a joint venture between Urban Village and Key Land Capital and is led by chief executive Nick Sellman, chief operating officer Kevin Sharkey and construction director Jamie Sellman.

Mr Sellman said: "Kevin, Jamie and I all grew up in Sutton Coldfield, and still live in the town, so it's very rewarding to be involved in a project which will bring a fresh lease of life to this building.

"The project will deliver the complete transformation of a tired building into a great place for people to work, rest and play.

"We will retain all of the apartments as we continue to grow our portfolio of properties in the private rented sector."
