Birmingham 'not seeking' Monk replacement; 'No bids' for Cardiff's Etheridge; Hull City approach League One manager - latest Championship news

Birmingham not seeking permanent Monk replacement

Birmingham City are not seeking a replacement for sacked Gary Monk after appointing a caretaker manager.

Monk's assistant Pep Clotet has taken the reins for an indefinite amount of time while Monk's coaching staff have also kept their jobs.

"We had a very positive talk with the guys and we are focused on what we want to try and achieve," said the club's CEO, Xuandong Ren.

'No bids' for Etheridge

Neil Warnock says newly-relegated Cardiff City have not received any offers for goalkeeper Neil Etheridge.

The stopper starred for Cardiff last season despite their relegation.

"I've had no offers whatsoever for Neil. I've read comments that we've turned down an £8m offer from this club and that club, but I've not received any phone calls and I don't think [Cardiff chief executive] Ken Choo has," Warnock said.

Hull City approach McCann

Hull City have moved for Doncaster boss Grant McCann, according to the BBC.

Nigel Adkins left the Tigers last week after failing to agree a new deal.

McCann has apparently not yet made a decision about speaking to Hull having led Rovers to a sixth-placed finish in League One last season before they were beaten by Charlton in the play-off semi-finals.

Forest secure new stadium lease

Nottingham Forest have secured a new 250-year lease so they can redevelop the City Ground.

Nottingham City Council, which owns the land that the stadium is built on, has agreed to extend the current 50-year lease

The club announced plans to redevelop back in February. The plans include the new Peter Taylor Stand and improvements to the existing stands.
