Birmingham Car Auctions site sold to Joseph Chamberlain College

A Birmingham college has bought an industrial site previously used for car auctions.

Joseph Chamberlain has acquired the former Birmingham Car Auctions site in Highgate for £1.47 million in an off-market deal.

The 1.7-acre site was sold by MJ&K Properties and will be used by the college for educational purposes.

Birmingham property consultancy Siddall Jones brokered the deal.

Managing director Edward Siddall-Jones said: "The property generated significant interest due to the lack of available yard space within close proximity of the city centre.

"We are pleased to have sold the site to Joseph Chamberlain College in the knowledge it will be used for educational purposes.

"The immediate area is dominated by the college and I am looking forward to seeing their plans for the site and the redevelopment of the wider area."

Advisers on the deal were law firms Rollason Solicitors and Shoosmiths and property agency Vail Williams.
