Emergency services have rushed to the scene of a building collapse in Birmingham where at least three people are believed to be injured, including one seriously.
Two people have been taken to hospital, and one has serious injuries, according to ambulance crews.
A third person was treated at the scene of the collapse which brought emergency services rushing to the city's jewellery quarter shortly before 6pm.
West Midlands Police earlier said officers were called to reports that a building on Vittoria Street in Hockley had collapsed just before 6pm this evening and one person was believed injured.
The West Midlands Ambulance Trust has since said three people have been injured, and called it a "wall collapse."
Police said earlier: "It’s understood that at least one person has been seriously injured. Officers are currently at the scene with fire and ambulance colleagues," police said.
The collapse appears to have happened internally at an old building formerly used as military factories and currently being converted to flats, reports Birmingham Live.
"The health and safety executive have been informed," police continued. "Vittoria Street is closed to allow for emergency services to investigate the cause of the collapse. Members of the public are asked to avoid the area."
Multiple ambulances, police cars and fire crews can be seen at the scene, along with an Urban Search and Rescue vehicle.
A Birmingham Live reporter at the scene says there is no outward damage to the row of buildings concerned, and firefighters have been seen going through a brick archway.
Vittoria Street is sealed off from the junction where it meets Regent Street.
A man who was working in a building opposite the site said he heard “nothing.”
He said: "I was working in the office building opposite and I didn’t hear any noise but saw the ambulance and fire trucks. I’m not sure what’s gone on. I didn’t feel or hear anything."
