Birmingham Apprenticeship Awards returns for second year

Entries have opened today for our annual awards celebrating the city region's top apprentices and those helping them succeed.

The Birmingham Apprenticeship Awards, run in partnership with the Ladder for Greater Birmingham campaign, will recognise achievement across 12 separate categories.

The awards, run by our sister website BirminghamLive, will celebrate individual excellence in six different business sectors alongside recognition for companies of all sizes and training providers (scroll down to enter).

The award categories are:

- Outstanding Apprentice of the Year (Health, Education and Care - Private or Public Sector), sponsored by Skillsfirst

- Outstanding Apprentice of the Year (Professional Services)

- Outstanding Apprentice of the Year (Tech, Digital and Creative Industries)

- Outstanding Apprentice of the Year (Travel, Tourism and Hospitality)

- Apprentice of the Year (chosen from the six category winners above)

- Small Employer of the Year (1-50 staff)

- Medium Employer of the Year (51-249 staff), sponsored by BCTG

- Large Employer of the Year (250+ staff), sponsored by The Development Manager

Training provider Performance Through People is our drinks sponsor for the evening and Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership is also an event supporter.

BirminghamLive editor Anna Jeys said: "We are delighted to be hosting our Birmingham Apprenticeship Awards once again.

"Our inaugural awards last year were such a success and we were overwhelmed by how positively they were received by both the business and education communities.

"It was a no brainer for us to run the awards for a second year and I am looking forward to reading the applications over the coming weeks."

The awards are run in conjunction with the Ladder for Greater Birmingham campaign, an initiative launched in 2018 aimed at creating 1,000 new apprenticeships in Birmingham and Solihull.
