The Queensway [Birkenhead] Mersey Tunnel will be closed to all traffic while essential maintenance work is undertaken.
The maintenance work will take place during the night through to the morning before rush-hour begins. Details of the closure were posted on the Public Notice Portal.
The tunnel will see a full closure as all lanes will be shut. Travel bosses advise that all drivers allow additional time to complete their journeys during this period to avoid any problems.

The tunnel will be closed on the following nights:
- 8pm on October 24, through to 6.30am on October 25
- 8pm on October 25, through to 6.30am on October 26
- 8pm on October 26, through to 6.30am on October 27
- 8pm on October 27, through to 6.30am on October 28
- 8pm on October 28, through to 6.30am on October 29
The Kingsway [Wallasey] Mersey Tunnel will not be affected by the work and will remain open.
