The Birkenhead Tunnel is currently sealed off due to an ongoing police incident.
It's understood the tunnel was shut by officers from Merseyside Police at around 8pm on Tuesday, May 4.
Police are reportedly at the scene with traffic being redirected along alternative routes.
The ECHO has approached the Merseyside Police Force Incident Manager for further details on the nature of the incident.
Travel monitors INRIX said: "Queensway Birkenhead Tunnel out of town closed due to police incident from Liverpool to Birkenhead.
"The road has been closed since Tuesday evening."

The closure comes less than 24 hours after a lorry crash forced a partial closure of the tunnel.
It was closed throughout Monday night as police worked at the scene, with Merseytravel confirming the incident involved a lorry.
