A man allegedly breaching his Criminal Behaviour Order by being in possession of alcohol and drigs was arrested on Borough Road in Birkenhead this evening.
The male, a known persistent anti-social behaviour offender in the area according to police, was also arrested for allegedly being in possession of heroin.
Merseyside Police reported that the arrest had been made on the Twitter account @MerPolWirral at 10.04pm tonight (Monday, August 9).
According to Parliament research, there were around 175,000 drug offences recorded by the police in England and Wales during 2019/20, which represented a 13 per cent increase on the figures from 2018/19.
From the 2019/20 figures, Merseyside recorded the highest rate of drug offences in the two countries, amounting to 8.3 per 1,000 of the population, which was an increase on 6.1 per 1,000 of the population in 2018/19.
