Birds Eye chicken nugget packs are recalled as they may contain plastic

Packs of chicken nuggets are being recalled from supermarkets as they may contain small pieces of clear plastic.

The affected Birds Eye 50 Chicken Nuggets with Golden Wholegrain are unsafe to eat and anyone who has bought them is urged to return them.

Food Standards Scotland says the affected packs have the following codes on the back of the bag: L9208 W V124, L9208 X V124, L9208 Y V124, L9208 Z V124.

The packs weigh 720g and they have a Best Before date of October 2020.

Notices explaining why the nuggets should be returned are being put up in the stores where they were sold.

Birds Eye say: "No other batch codes or other Birds Eye products are affected. Birds Eye apologises for the inconvenience to all our consumers.

"If you have bought any of the above batch codes DO NOT EAT. Instead, return to the store from where it was bought for a full refund."
