Leaders of the Republican and Democratic parties stood together at Ground Zero in Manhattan. Vice President Harris and President Biden, and later former President Trump, also traveled to Shanksville, Pennsylvania, where one of the four hijacked airplanes crashed after passengers heroically thwarted the attempt by al-Qaeda terrorists to fly that plane to Washington, D.C. to wreak havoc.
