An 88-year-old man has died after he was rescued from a flat hit by a suspected gas explosion.
Firefighters, police and an air ambulance were called to reports of a blast at the home in Bingham in Nottinghamshire at about 5.45am.
A witness wrote on Twitter that an air ambulance, three paramedic cars, police cars and a fire engine were on scene.
Neighbours said the blast happened in a flat and a man was rescued, a BBC journalist reported.
A large privacy screen was set up in front of the property as the emergency services dealt with the incident.

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police said in a statement: "Officers have confirmed a man has died following reports of an incident in Bingham this morning.
"Emergency services were called to an address in East Grove after initial reports of a gas explosion.
"Residents reported hearing a bang at around 5.45am.
"An 88-year-old man received medical treatment at the scene but sadly died.
"A cordon remains on at the scene and we are continuing to work with partners to establish the cause of what happened.
"We are not treating the incident as suspicious."
Nigel Starbuck told the BBC he had arrived to visit his mother when he noticed neighbours trying to enter the flat.
He said: "I just saw people, neighbours, trying to get in."
East Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed it sent an air ambulance to the scene.
Sheila Fusiara said another neighbour heard "a thud and then the alarms going off".
