Bin Daghr Inspects Services Projects in Aden

Upon his arrival in the temporary capital Aden on Friday, Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed Obeid bin Daghr inspected the power plants amid optimism among Yemenis that the government will work on stabilizing the security situation, and continue to improve services and the national economy.

In his first press statement following his return to Aden, Bin Daghr called on all Yemenis to support the government and the legitimacy backed by the Arab Coalition to restore the state and eliminate the Iranian project in the region.

He also affirmed his government's commitment to a better performance.

In his visit to the al-Hoswa Power Plant, Bin Daghr inspected maintenance work for the plant, which will be operational in its early stage by the start of the holy month of Ramadan.

He held a meeting with a number of ministers, acting Aden governor and officials in the ministry of electricity, discussing with them key challenges and possible solutions for a swift and better power production to face the scorching summer heat.

Citizens in Aden told Asharq Al-Awsat that the return of Bin Daghr, along with his ministers, is evidence that the states of the Saudi-led coalition are keen to ensure the legitimate government's plans to govern liberated areas and provide all means of support.

They pointed out that their return would constitute a "painful blow to all the internal and external forces that were betting on tearing up the legitimacy of the Yemeni government and weakening it.

In this context, Asharq Al-Awsat learned from informed cabinet sources that the coalition’s leadership has managed to overcome all the difficulties and problems that prevented the return of the government and its head to Aden, especially with regard to the deep differences between the government and its opponents in the Southern Transitional Council.

In an interview with Asharq Al-Awsat earlier, Bin Daghr said that statements made by some officials in his government, regarding the relationship with the coalition states, do not reflect the cabinet's views and positions.

He pointed out that the return of President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi to Aden is possible and can happen at any time.

The Yemeni PM left Aden two months ago to Riyadh at Hadi’s request.

He was sent to hold discussions with a number of Western ambassadors before going to Cairo for treatment. He them returned to Riyadh to complete coordination with Hadi and coalition officials on a number of security, political and economic issues.
