Billy Sharp receives another offer to leave his beloved Sheffield United

Billy Sharp has turned down the latest loan offer to quit his beloved Sheffield United .

Celtic, Leeds, Nottingham Forest and Derby all want to sign the Blades club captain and Chris Wilder claims they received another bid this week.

Clubs believe they may be able to lure Sharp away from Bramall Lane because he has slipped down Wilder’s pecking order of strikers and has made just one Premier League start this season.

But Wilder says Sharp has turned down every offer he has so far received this month.

The Blades boss said: “I had another chat with Billy this week and mentioned another club that is interested.

“My stance hasn’t changed. It’s Billy’s choice. Unless something happens from an injury point of view, I’m happy with my forwards. Everyone knows we play two up top.

“If Billy had given an indication he wants to go, then that would have happened with the amount of calls we’ve had.

“Listen, you can never say never. I’ve not had calls off anybody. Billy has not come to see me. I’ve been up front with him and he’s been up front with me.”

Wilder is keen to retain all his senior squad members and will snub any loan offer for midfielders Luke Freeman and Ben Osborn, who have managed just three Premier League starts between them this season.

He is prepared to let fringe players like Leon Clarke go and the 34-year-old striker has made just one start this season in the FA Cup win over Fylde.

“It’s important for Leon that he gets some football,” said Wilder. “He’s been outstanding for us in my time here.

“He’s the perfect January signing for somebody. He will add value to a team for the next three or four months and longer.

“There are two options, we could come to an agreement and a settlement on his contract or a club could come in who wants to take him on loan.”
