Billy Price might get a chance to recapture a starting job in Week 3

Cincinnati Bengals center Billy Price should get another chance to start in the team’s Week 3 road game against the Buffalo Bills.

With Michael Jordan likely out, Price will get the nod at left guard alongside Trey Hopkins at center, something the team made clear early this week.

It has been a long, rocky journey for Price since declaring for the NFL. He had the injury at the combine, only played 10 games as a rookie and lost his starting job this summer at center to Hopkins while watching the rookie Michael Jordan take the starting job at left guard. Price is reportedly battling plantar fasciitis.

Sunday, should the staff hold Jordan out, is a chance for Price to prove he should be back in the starting lineup — something this new staff has admitted they are open to doing.

Price to guard has always been an interesting conversation since Hopkins went in at center last year and played so well before taking the job this season under a new staff.

This isn’t Price’s last chance by any means — but his first serious foray at guard since 2016 at Ohio State could be his fastest way to avoiding the “bust” conversation. Last week was a great start: Besides a flag that took away a touchdown in a meaningless game by that point, Price was stellar.

Week 3 might give Price a chance to stay on the field.
