Billy Price confident in his progression heading into Year 2

It isn’t all bad for the Cincinnati Bengals offensive line in the wake of the season-ending injury suffered by Jonah Williams.

Second-year center Billy Price is one of the guys who will have to help the unit compensate for the loss after a debut season of his own was derailed by injury.

Price says the mental side of the game is where he’ll make the biggest leap, per Bengals.com.

“It’s a lot better feeling than what you come into as a rookie,” Price said. “Especially the offense that I came from which was very simple. My (football) IQ wasn’t very high, so where I am today versus where I was last year is completely different.”

Price had the pec injury at the combine before getting drafted and then suffered another setback during the regular season and was limited to 10 games.

In those 10 appearances, Price was up and down and played a role in the Andy Dalton injury.

Moving forward, though, Price expects to have a better adaptation to the mental side of the pro game, which at a position like center, is often more important than the physical.

It’s a small positive takeaway for onlookers who have otherwise only had to deal with tough news surrounding the offensive line this week.
