Billy McGuire ‘murder’ cops charge third man in connection with young dad’s death at Clydebank house

Police have arrested and charged a third man in connection with the death of Clydebank dad Billy McGuire.

The 25-year-old was found gravely injured at a house in Perth Crescent on December 21 and was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Medics battled to save him but he tragically lost his life a short time later, sparking a major police investigation.

A second man, aged 34, who was also injured during the incident, was described as being in a ‘critical’ condition.

Officers probing the young dad’s death have now charged a 26-year-old man.

Police Scotland confirmed the update and said the suspect has since been released pending further enquiries.

Jordan Morrision, 24, from Glasgow, previously appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court where he was charged with murder and attempted murder on January 2.

He made no plea and was remanded in custody.

Yesterday, the Daily Record told how a second man, aged 25, had also been charged in connection with Billy's death.

Detective Chief Inspector Alan McAlpine of the Major Investigation Team said: “We continue to conduct enquiries surrounding Billy’s death and I would urge anyone who has any information to come forward and speak to police.

“I would also like to thank the community for their assistance with our investigation so far.

“If anyone has any information I would urge that they get in touch with police by calling 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
