Billy Joe Saunders has reportedly beaten domestic rival Callum Smith to a fight with Canelo Alvarez.
The pair will clash at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on May 2 for Saunders' super-middleweight world title.
Canelo had been dithering over his opponent for his traditional annual curtain-raiser on Cinco de Mayo weekend.
But he has opted for Saunders who is unbeaten in 29 fights but who looked poor in his last bought against Marcelo Esteban Coceres.
The Traveller reigned as a middleweight world champion for two years and made three defences before testing positive for a banned substance.
He vacated his title shortly afterwards before jumping to 168lb to defeat Shefat Isufi for the vacant WBO belt last summer.

Saunders will earn $8million (£6m) while Canelo is guaranteed $35m as the highest-paid boxer in the world.
The Mexican has won world titles at four different weights, including at super-middleweight, but most recently stopped Sergey Kovalev to become a light-heavyweight ruler.
The fight will be shown on DAZN in the UK with the streaming service announcing its arrival on these shores earlier this week.

The confirmation of the bout, which will be formally announced at a press conference in Los Angeles next week, comes after Saunders had started to lose patience.
Promoter Eddie Hearn said earlier this week: "I think Billy Joe is the front runner now but previously it was Callum Smith and it could change again.
"It’s eight weeks on Saturday so it should be done this week but we have not received a contract for either fighter.

"Neither fighter has agreed terms, Canelo knows the terms for both guys but I am yet to receive a contract to say 'it is done'.
"Right now, Billy Joe is the favourite but three days ago it was Callum, there are different messages coming out from Canelo’s team and his promoter Golden Boy.
"Both fighters are standing by to see who gets the golden ticket but neither have set a deadline.
"Billy has been telling me for two weeks ‘I want to know today or tell Canelo to f*** off'."
