Chelsea loanee Billy Gilmour used sparingly again as Norwich sack manager Daniel Farke

Despite picking up their first win of the Premier League season away at Brentford, Norwich manager Daniel Farke's four-year spell with the Canaries has come to an abrupt end.

The German oversaw 208 competitive games across his long spell at the club and gained promotion to the Premier League on two separate occasions.

But it's fair to say that so far this season has been very underwhelming and although the lack of quality across the team is significant.

Farke's decision-making has been somewhat questionable, one of which is the lack of opportunities given to Billy Gilmour.

Going into today's game against Thomas Frank's exciting Bees, the Chelsea loanee was yet again sparingly used and has so far only managed four starts in the Premier League, with many Blues fans extremely frustrated with him not gaining regular first-team minutes.

What makes this even more surprising is the fact that the talented young prospect possesses a profile that is tailored to the style of football on show at Norwich.

Farke advocated possession-based football and with Gilmour very comfortable in operating at the base, along with possessing the ability to keep things ticking along by recycling the ball effectively, not selecting the youngster has been baffling, with the likelihood of them controlling proceedings arguably higher if he was starting games consistently.

Gilmour, however, will hope that a change in management could enable him to break into the first team, with Blues legend Frank Lampard already being linked with the role.
