Billy Gilmour has got himself a new canine pal to help see him through the next football season.
The 20-year-old Scotland ace recently joined up with new English Premier League side Norwich City, after securing a loan move away from his club Chelsea.
Gilmour earned the move for more time on the pitch following his Wembley heroics against England last month - which earned him a Euro 2020 player of the match award.
He has now swapped holding the coveted award for holding his new cute puppy Buddy.
The ex-Rangers star shared picture of him holding the tiny Staffordshire bull terrier to his fans on Instagram.
Pictures were also shared showing Gilmour picking up Buddy at Small Town Kennels - which is owned by his uncle near the footballer’s native Saltcoats home.
Writing on Instagram, the kennel firm said: “Delighted to welcome my nephew @billygilmourrr and the Gimour family to the Small Town Kennels family.
“Officially joining the staffy club with the beautiful Buddy Gilmour.”
Scots football fans were blown away by the quality shown by the rising star during his outstanding performance against England in the Euro 2020 group stage.
Gilmour was pivotal in securing a shock 0-0 draw against the Auld Enemy during the Scottish men’s side’s first major tournament since 1998.
But his time at Euro 2020 was cut short after he tested positive for Covid-19 before Steve Clarke’s men were dumped out by Croatia.
Gilmour will be hoping to make his Norwich City debut next month, when his side take on Liverpool in their first English Premier League of the season.
