Billy Gilmour's Instagram message to Christian Pulisic after what happened in Chelsea training

Billy Gilmour has had a week he will never forget.

On Wednesday, less than 24 hours after the 2-1 win over Leicester City that boosted Chelsea's top-four hopes, the wonderkid was named in Steve Clarke's Scotland squad for the upcoming European Championships.

Gilmour is one of seven midfielders to have made the cut, joining the likes of Manchester United's Scott McTominay and John Fleck of Sheffield United.

Whilst players tend to know in advance as to whether they have made the squad for a tournament of such significance, the Blues youngster appeared to have found out via a different, yet brilliant, method.

Although it cannot officially be claimed for certain.

Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell uploaded a video to social media to show Gilmour's reaction to finding out he had made the squad via watching Sky Sports News.

Chilwell shot the moment Scotland's squad for the tournament was being revealed, with Gilmour sat just ahead of him.

As Sky's graphic changed from the defenders being named in the squad to the midfielders, Gilmour slowly got up from his seat, turned round, and smiled at Chilwell, portraying just how incredibly proud he was.

Following the new international recognition, it would appear that the 19-year-old is riding a wave of momentum.

As expected, Gilmour was involved in the Chelsea training session on Friday ahead of the Premier League clash against Aston Villa.

And, as revealed in the Instagram image above, he also 'ruined' Christian Pulisic's day.

It's unclear as to exactly what happened between the pair, but Gilmour responded with a two-word message that read: "Sorry Broski" with a smiley face emoji.

Not only have some of Gilmour's Chelsea teammates congratulated him on the Scotland squad announcement but some of his Premier League rivals have done the same.

Leicester City and England star James Maddison reached out on Instagram and said "Well done brother" with a clapping emoji.

Furthermore, West Ham's Declan Rice said: "Love it geeza."
