Billy Gilmour's best position revealed as Frank Lampard's big Kepa decision pays off for Chelsea

The race to qualify for the Champions League next season remains firmly in Chelsea's hands.

The Blues kept hold of fourth spot in the Premier League table thanks to a 4-0 win over Everton on Sunday.

The supporters have a new star to cheer in the form of youngster Billy Gilmour, while Kepa Arrizabalaga has returned to form between the sticks for the Blues too.

A focus on those two, plus much more is below in our round-up of all the biggest news stories from around Stamford Bridge in the last 24 hours.

Frank Lampard praises Olivier Giroud impact

Gilmour's best position

Billy Gilmour has enjoyed an impressive start to life in the Chelsea first team.

The highly-rated midfielder impressed against Liverpool in the FA Cup and followed it up with a fine display against Everton in the Premier League.

Everyone wants to know about the latest player off the production line and whether or not he can continue on the upward trajectory and become a Premier League star.

Gilmour would follow in the footsteps of Mason Mount, who has already stepped in to make a first team place his own.

And Mount has been talking about the youngster.

Kepa decision

Kepa Arrizabalaga's future at Chelsea looked to be in some doubt just a month ago.

The Spaniard was dropped by Frank Lampard following a string of poor performances between the sticks.

The Blues' club-record signing was replaced by veteran Willy Caballero for four matches and Kepa's long-term Chelsea future was in real doubt.

But Kepa has come back into the starting lineup and Lamaprd's decision to leave him out for a short period of time has been vindicated with some good performances in the last two games.

Read all about that bold move here.

Mason Mount injury

Midfielder Mason Mount was withdrawn an hour into Chelsea's demolition of Everton on Sunday.

And that will have concerned Frank Lampard and the Chelsea supporters.

Mount scored his first goal since December during the 4-0 win and will be hoping to go on a goalscoring run between now and the end of the season.

And he moved to reassure supporters over his fitness following the match.

Fixture comparison

The Blues appear to have gone through their rough patch and come out the other side.

Frank Lampard's men have a three-point cushion over Manchester United in fourth place, with Wolves, Sheffield United, Tottenham and Arsenal all further back.

Fixtures compared.

But how do all the teams battling for that top four finish fare in terms of their fixtures between now and the end of the season?

We analysed all of the team's schedules to see who would have the best chance of finishing fourth.
