Scotland's new hero Billy Gilmour has missed out on the final list for the prestigious Golden Boy award.
The 20-year-old has broken into Steve Clarke's plans while also being part of the Chelsea squad that lifted the Champions League.
Gilmour was nominated for the prestigious prize, handed out by Italian newspaper Tuttosport, but missed out on the top 20 cut.
The Norwich loanee misses out at the last hurdle alongside countryman Aaron Hickey, with both named on the initial 50 player longlist.
Hickey moved to Bologna last summer but is yet to earn a Scotland call with Andy Robertson and Kieran Tierney his competition for the left back spot.
However, he has been a stand-out in Serie A this term with Bologna after recovering from niggling injuries last term.
The duo will miss out on the trophy which has previously been won by the likes of Wayne Rooney, Lionel Messi, Cesc Fabregas, Sergio Aguero, Paul Pogba, Raheem Sterling and Kylian Mbappe.
Arsenal’s Bukayo Sako, AC Milan’s Daniel Maldini, Manchester United's Mason Greenwood and Bryan Gil of Tottenham are now among the frontunners to make the cut.
Celtic 's Europa League tormentor Florian Wirtz of Bayer Leverkusen also remains in the running, while Barcelona wondered Pedri can also still lift the gong.
England internationals Jude Bellingham and Jamal Musiala of Bayern Munich, while Real Madrid's summer signing Eduardo Camavinga also makes the cut.
