Impressed Antonio Rudiger has saluted Billy Gilmour 's excellent display against Manchester City as the rising midfielder continues to push for a place at Euro 2020 with Scotland.
The 19-year-old was a key man for Thomas Tuchel in the gutsy 2-1 win against the team they will face in the Champions League Final.
Gilmour was excellent in the second half as goals from Hakim Ziyech and Marcos Alonso secured all thee points and kept Pep Guardiola's side waiting on Premier League title glory.
The former Rangers academy star impressed onlookers once again with his range of passing and tireless energy in the final third.
And his all-action display caught they eye of Chelsea team-mate Rudiger who namechecked Gilmour after his second consecutive league start.
The German international said: ‘For me I have to big up to Kurt and also to, for me, Billy Gilmour.
"I think he grew into this game. He was very, very important for us."
Gilmour appears a bonafide contender to make the cut for Scotland with Steve Clarke able to include 26 players for Euro 2020 - the country's first appearance at a major tournament in 21 years.
Kenny McLean suffered a knee injury for Norwich on Saturday and that could also push the Stamford Bridge star's name up the pecking order.
