Billy Gilmour and Olivier Giroud share brilliant Chelsea exchange as striker queries rising star's claim

Chelsea starlet Billy Gilmour revealed his Premier League debut could hardly have gone better - and insists he's ready for a Scotland call-up.

Gilmour made it back-to-back man of the match awards after starring in Chelsea 's 4-0 win over Everton at Stamford Bridge.

It comes after he ran the show against Liverpool in the FA Cup on Tuesday and the 18-year-old hopes his performances lead to a phone call from national boss Steve Clarke.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Gilmour said: "It's amazing, a dream come true to make my full debut in the Premier League but most of all getting the three points and carrying on winning.

"It was tough against Liverpool and today was a tough game. I played well against Liverpool but you can only do the exact same, work your hardest, play well and do your best for the team.

"We came out on top so it was most of all a good win for the team and a good day.

"It's a bit mad, it would be amazing to be called up but I just need to keep working hard here and doing my best, hopefully I'll get my opportunity soon."

The heartwarming post-match interview with Olivier Giroud showed the Scots kid is no stranger to some laughs after the comprehensive win.

But the French World Cup winner kept Gilmour in check after he claimed to have known when he was playing with time to spare.

When asked when he knew he was starting, Gilmour replied: "This morning, we have a meeting and we get told the team.

But a giggling Giroud said: "He knew the day before the game."

The French striker handed Gilmour the man of the match honours and exclaimed: "Well deserved bro!"

He added: "It's another one for the little boy.

"He's done very well again today and he's good for 18-years-old. He's got great maturity and he's listening to advice.

"He's got a nice future ahead of him if he stays like that."
